Are your paddocks thriving or surviving after all that rain?

This weekend’s must do’s!

After all that rain coming in, you’re paddocks will be thriving or just surviving.

Paddock Rolling:

I don’t know about yours, but my paddocks got soo much water this past week. The horses were full of energy and were doing major hoon sessions!

They were exercising themselves.. yay!

But my paddocks definitely got a little muddy. Luckily the paddock roller came to the rescue, meaning the surface could be levelled for the future rain to just wash away and not get stuck in hoof holes + Its nice and even after it dries out for me to ride 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Manure:

To help them out, poo collect or spread using our paddock harrows, Poo Vacuum or Paddock groomer.

This will help the soil recover from the manure!

Grass management:

Things are going to spring up after that rain, top the seed heads & grass to allow a few things:

New growth, and better growth to come through.

Thicker grass throughout the paddocks, improving roots in the soil. Making them more durable and more nutritious for your horses.

Topping broadleaf, preventing butter cup, dock and other broadleafs from suffocating the grass beneath wanting to grow through!

Especially important after your horse has grazed your paddocks out.

Arena care:

The recent rain compacts the sand making a firm surface for your horses. Add some life and fluff back into your arena by using our Arena groomer & Leveller!!

Spraying:

Spraying the weeds off will kill them when they are wanting to grow the most, allowing your grass to power through in their place!

Fertilising:

Fertilising the soil & plants after a huge downpour is sooo beneficial for your gras and soil.

It replenishes the nutrients & takes advantage of the moisture soil conditions putting the fertiliser in the right places by helping it dissolve, reaching the plants roots more effectively!

Now that you have a list of things you can do for your property to improve it, we can make things even easier for you, supply the equipment to get it done.

Plus hire our UTV to tow it all, or maybe just our UTV if you have the equipment but your ATV has a dead battery or flat tyres 😅
